Weekend

Hello everyone, sorry it has been so long since my last post. We spent last weekend with family. My grandmother is in the nursing home right now, as she is not doing well. She hopes to get out soon and is doing physical therapy in order to walk again. We visited her twice and saw my mom and sister. We had lunch and dinner with Jonathan's family and got to see both of his sisters and brother (we hope you are feeling better Ricky!). Saturday night we went to dinnerwith Rachel and Krista and got to see Jeremy hard at work. We also saw their (Rachel and Jeremy) home for the first time and really enjoyed the visit.

My 23rd Birthday!

We had such a wonderful time on my birthday. Jonathan's mom and siblings drove up from to take us to an early lunch. We went to lunch and had an awesome chocolate chip cookie sundae. Thank you guys for coming! In the afternoon we went to the Museum of Art and Archaeology which I have been wanting to see since we moved here. It was really cold but we still had fun. Then we enjoyed a cup of coffee while we watched our new season of Frasier (that I got for my birthday).
Saturday I went to the mall (which by the way is a big mistake- nothing but crowds and traffic!). But I did get the most gorgeous top to wear to dinner on Sunday... and I got it on sale!
We had dinner at Sophia's. Jonathan got the salmon and I got the tortellini. It was so good!
We also got free dessert. I can't remember what it was called but it was very chocolatey.

Thank you to everyone who called yesterday. It was so nice to be remembered.

Evening with friends

Last night we went to dinner with some friends from work downtown. I apologize in advance for exploiting the cuteness of everyone's children on my blog- but it's so much better than more pictures of our cat! In attendance: Rebecca and Seth and their adorable baby Logan.
The charming George who also brought his parents along- Christine and Andrew. (His blog has made him famous in his own right...)
Christine and Andrew. I was delighted to discover that Andrew is an anthropologist.
Urska and Enzo. He was quite shy at the beginning but warmed up and showed us all his sweet personality.
Rebecca and Logan.
Enzo is quite the photographer. See below some of the impressive photos he took.
Quite artistic...
It's wonderful to see the world through the eyes of a child.
(Thanks to all for letting me post pictures of them here.)

Wacky weather

Wow, weather can be crazy but this last week must have set a record. When we left for work on Thursday morning it was 55 degrees. When we got off, it looked like this...
And by the time we got home, it looked like this... and was 17 degrees.
Things cleared up nicely by the weekend. Jonathan had an interview with the schools to teach Personal Finance next year at the high school. It went well and he should have a second interview soon. While he was doing that, I was at the gym. One of my New Year's resolutions was to run a half-marathon (13 miles) in the gym. Well on Saturday I smashed my goal-- I ran for 2 hours, 17 miles, 1470 calories! Woohoo! I have never felt so good! We had such a great weekend and this morning I went to the MU library before work. Walking there I got to see the most beautiful scenery and enjoy perfect weather. It is supposed to be 63 degrees today... Who knows what tomorrow will bring, but for today, I'm loving it.

There's always something to be thankful for....
