Fun and Anticipation

I am so excited because I am now the proud owner of a new Osprey bag. Proud because it is made of 70% recycled materials. I got an incredible deal on eBay. It will be perfect for carrying my Mac and books to school.

We had a fun weekend with family. We drank some nice Cava Brut (Spanish version of Champagne) and some Pomegranate liquor.

Jonathan and dad worked hard in the koi pond while us girls sat inside and watched. :)

Dad and Anja brought us back some wonderful souvenirs from their conference in San Francisco. Below is the lovely necklace, bracelet, and earrings that she picked up in Chinatown. The pendant means "love" in Mandarin.

Today was my first day of Graduate School. I was so nervous! I've only been to one class so far but it seems like it will be interesting. I am only one of two MA students, the rest are PhD so I'm a little intimidated. But I am excited that I will have a chance to learn a lot from seasoned students.

Moving, birthday and first day of school

Last weekend my mom and sister moved to town. It is so nice to have them here with us but it seems like they are only here for a visit. It's hard to believe they are actually staying! Today is Amanda's first day of Junior High School and I am so excited for her. Have a great day, sweetie! Welcome Mom and Amanda!
Last Friday was also my niece's 3rd birthday. I was so thrilled to be able to talk to her on the phone and hear her cute little voice. Happy Birthday Alex!

Weird Al and our Anniversary

Weird Al is so awesome! Friday night we went to a Weird Al concert in St. Charles. It was even better than we could have imagined. He did all of our favorites and played for nearly two and a half hours without a break. He even did all of the costumes. Our favs were "Yoda", "The Saga Begins", "Amish Paradise", and "Fat". The fat suit was great. Here's a picture below of his whole group geting into the Star Wars mood.

Below is us super excited before the concert.
Saturday was supposed to be our day to walk around St. Charles and have a nice lunch on our 2nd Anniversary. Unfortunately, that didn't work out. I woke up early with a migraine and spent the whole morning getting sick in the hotel. Then we had to go home as soon as we checked out. Jonathan drove us straight home and after getting into bed and sleeping for nearly 4 hours, I emerged at 5:00 almost as good as new. Rough day!

Sunday I got to talk to my best friend Els about our exciting vacation coming up at the end of the year. I am so lucky to have such a great friend. We decided to celebrate what was left of our Anniversary Sunday night with homemade pizza and a glass of wine. We hope our third year together will be even better than the 2nd.

Review of last weekend and preparations for our Anniversary

Last weekend we went to see the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight". It was really good and Heath Ledger was amazing. Jonathan liked it more than I did but that's probably because I got a migraine in the middle of it.

I've been running early in the morning this week and really love it. This morning I saw a family of deer in our neighborhood and watched the sun rise and the sky turn pink and then blue. A great way to start out the day.

This weekend is our two year Anniversary and we are celebrating first by going to a Weird Al concert on Friday night. We are both so excited to actually get to see Weird Al perform our childhood favorites. We'll post some pics of the weekend on Sunday.
