First step!

Monday I took my first step! I stood up and tried to walk to Mommy. She caught me before I fell, but there wasn't time to record my achievement. I'll do it again soon so she can get it on tape.
Causing trouble.
I'm having a lot of fun lately. I really like crawling under things and getting stuck, pulling all the VHS tapes out of the cabinet, pulling the clothes off the line as Mom puts them on, and making a general mess of things. I also love to cruise around the furniture. All this moving is making me lose a bit of my baby fat (though I'm still a chunky guy). I weigh 26.5 pounds and have gained almost 3 inches in length in the last two months. I'm too busy to eat much, though I'm still into beets and nursing. I have 6 teeth now, too. We recently discovered that I am allergic to either soy or tree nuts. I had a few bites of Mom's tofu-almond milk-peach-banana smoothie and broke out in a rash.
I can say 7 words (mama, dada, dog, duck, J.J., "mmm, good", and baby), though I won't say them if you ask me. It has to be my idea. I like to build with blocks and play peekaboo, too! Oh, and you might be noticing that almost all pictures of me are in the buff. I still love to be naked, and pottying is going pretty well (though I've been on a bit of a "potty pause" lately - I mean, who has time to sit on the potty!?). We've also had trouble with our air conditioner all summer, so it's much more comfortable without clothes. Mom promises to clothe me once the weather turns, though, so don't worry.

Happy Anniversary!

Last week was the folks' 7 year wedding anniversary. To celebrate, I hung out with my Mimi while Mom and Dad went out for an hour to dinner. Mom says that she loves Dad more than ever and is so grateful for their marriage.
Help! I'm stuck!
School starts next week, so that means Dad will start teaching in the Honors college again. He'll be super busy with that, working full-time, and taking classes for his degree. Mom was going to teach but was offered a research assistantship - she will get paid to stay home with me and work on her dissertation. Woohoo!
I'm such a happy guy!
There's always something new and exciting going on around here. Every day is a new adventure!
