Early days of summer
These past couple of weeks have been nice. It's already hot and humid (welcome to Missouri summers) but I'm still so glad that summer is finally here. We've been working, visiting family and friends, and doing some work on our theses.
On a hot summer day, don't you wish you could curl up in a patch of sunlight and take a nap in the nice air conditioning? Sometimes I am jealous and wish I were a pet.

This past weekend we had the privilege of spending a three-day weekend with our niece. Dad and Anja had a wedding to go to so we came in to "baby-sit," although you can hardly call hanging out with a cool 11 year-old baby-sitting. She's getting so big and so grown-up - kids grow too fast. We also went to visit a family friend on the spur of the moment and got to see a beautiful koi pond. (Although you can hardly call a 100,000 gallon koi pond a "pond" - more like a koi resort.)
This upcoming weekend we will be going to a wedding and visiting family. With all of this coming and going, the summer is bound to fly by!
